NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING STREET MAINTENANCEA public hearing will be held to consider the adoption of annual charges for street maintenance as special assessments from various tax exempt parcels throughout the city. Taxpayers or property owners appearing on the assessment rolls for street maintenance will receive mailed notices specifying their parcel details and amounts due.

COMMENTS & OBJECTIONS
You are not required to attend. To preserve your right to appeal, you may:
· Speak at the hearing, or
· Submit written comments or objections before the time and date of the public hearing by email to councilcomment@minneapolismn.gov or by mail to: City Clerk's Office C/O C&I Committee Coordinator, 350 Fifth St., Room 312, Minneapolis, MN 55415
APPEALS PROCESS
If the Council approves any street maintenance assessment and you have timely objected, you may appeal by:
1. Serving a Notice of Appeal on the Mayor or City Clerk within 30 days of Council adoption, and
2. Filing your Notice (plus filing fee) with Hennepin County District Court within 30 days of adoption and within 10 days after serving the City.
Governing authority: Minneapolis Code of Ordinances § 24.120 and applicable Minnesota Statutes.
PREPAYMENT OPTION
Property owners may prepay the full assessment by 11/15/2026.

Payment must be received by the deadline; no additional reminders will be sent.
COLLECTION & INTEREST
Unpaid assessments will appear on 2027 tax statements and will be collected in their entirety without interest.
ASSESSMENT ROLL INSPECTION
The itemized assessment roll, cost reports, and methodology are available electronically or by appointment through the Public Works Special Assessment Office.
LEGAL COMPLIANCE
This notice satisfies all requirements of:
· Minneapolis Charter, Article IX, § 9.6(c)
· Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, Chapter 24 (notice, appeal, collection)
· Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429
Under these laws, street maintenance promotes public health and safety, and costs are assessed to benefited parcels exempt from property tax.(Published in Finance and Commerce
